It is a little bit about the quality of your video though, because you have no control or idea how FCPX is going to encode your video to put on DVD or Blu-ray. I edit in FCPX so I didn't need to buy a new editing system and change everything. Personally, I'd just use a macOS solution for this. I'm not sure how comfortable I would feel about using ExFAT external drives to put my stuff on. Without Drivers, Windows and macOS only have Read-Only access to each others' file systems. Otherwise, why bother at all? DVD Architect does not render your video, it just burns it (and other stuff) to the DVD or BD.Īlso, boot camping windows sounds better than it works in this situation. This is the main reason why such software even exists. It's not about the quality of the video, it's about how you can design the DVD/BR with that software (Graphics, Menus, etc.). The quality of the DVD/BR that you get out of DVD Architect or MyDVD is going to be better than what you get straight out of FCPX.

I switched to Vegas Pro for my video work. I still use macOS for productivity work, but I now do all of my media editing on Windows. The range of viable software choices is amazing there. Honestly, this is part of the reason why I moved from macOS to Windows when I got a new "power laptop" (to edit video/audio/photos).

If can't be bought stand-alone, but the price is still in the same range you quote (cheaper, but close).
